2001 MTI performance boat powered by twin Mercury 900 Supercharged engines with #6 drives.
Both engines are freshly built:
Port engine: approximately 2 hours run time
Starboard engine: approximately 45 minutes run time
Superchargers/blowers recently rebuilt
The engines were built by Jeff Barnes Racing Engines in Tupelo, Mississippi and dyno tested at a little over 1,000 HP each.
The boat was recently tested on Pickwick Lake and ran over 100+ MPH during testing. Fresh power and strong performance.
Important details regarding the starboard engine:
During test running on the fresh engines, oil pressure on the starboard side dropped while running. The engine was shut down immediately as soon as the issue was noticed. The source of the problem was identified and corrected. Since then, the engine has been restarted and run for approximately 30 minutes. It starts, runs, and sounds good, but oil pressure remains lower than desired.
Jeff Barnes is on standby and available to take the starboard engine and do whatever is necessary to correct the low oil pressure issue. His current opinion is that it may be nothing more than replacing the main bearings and rod bearings, but a complete inspection would determine exactly what is needed.
Boat is currently located at Pickwick, Tennessee.
